On Sunday I went to my first Tree and Crop meet. I packed my lunch and gathered up a car load of friends and off we went. Our first stop was Peter and Margaret Hill’s in the sunny town of Foxton. We were greeted at the gate and welcomed into their home. Once everyone who was attending had gathered we were given a brief talk about the property by Peter and then headed off to check it out. The first thing that caught my eye was their massive lemon tree with an abundance of bright yellow lemons. If only I could grow citrus like that. We then went on to see their wood heated spa pool and Margaret’s art studio where we were shown all sorts of fabulous masks, weaving, dyed wool, mats and baskets. One day if Margaret decides to teach classes I would definitely be interested.
